A preview is required for all new theater students interested in taking the Musical Theater Techniques or Monologues and Scenes classes. This preview is a 30 - 45 minute interview/audition for the instructors to best gauge your skills and develop a curriculum to fit your individual needs. Based on the preview, our instructors will be able to hit the ground running with a repertoire for you on the first day of class. Preview classes are scheduled at 4:30 PM on Tuesdays or Thursdays for $10 by contacting us.
Drop-ins are welcome for Theater Dance at $17 per class. Drop-ins are not allowed in Acting Fundamentals, because designing a play around those enrolled in the entire session is a integral part of the class. Drop-ins may be accepted per instructor approval for Musical Theater Techniques and Monologues and Scenes, but approval is by no means guaranteed. If a student is looking to prepare audition material only, private sessions may be arranged by contacting us.
For Monologues & Scenes and Musical Theater Techniques enrollment begins with an eight week introductory package, including gym use for those 18 and older. After those eight weeks enrollment will continue on a month to month basis. For Acting Fundmentals and Musical Theater Dance enrollment is for the full eight week session with gym use available during those eight weeks.
Acting Fundamentals only requires materials given by the instructor. Musical Theater Dance requires form fitting clothing and jazz and character shoes. Monologues & Scenes may require the students to read a copy of the play from which their class materials derive. Musical Theater Technique instructors may require students to purchase their own sheet music.
