For students with no prior dance experience, these classes emphasize the development of classical ballet skills with a focus on age appropriate development in gross motor and interpersonal skills. Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced classes are offered for students ages 10 years old and older. Our office staff can assist in selecting the proper class for a beginning hip hop student as well as one that has previous experience.

Jazz has become one of the most popular dance styles in recent years, mainly due to its popularity on television shows, movies, music videos and commercials. The dancing is energetic and fun, consisting of unique moves, fancy footwork, big leaps, and quick turns. Jazz dance classes include technical warm-ups, terminology, and traditional and contemporary movement combinations. Musicality and performance skills are tightly related and taught through a series of dance combinations that can be combined into more complex choreography. To excel in jazz, dancers need a strong background in ballet, as it encourages grace, balance, flexibility, and strength.
Ages: 7 - 12 years old
An introduction to the fundamentals of jazz dance, this class incorporates warm-ups, games, and all the fun and energy of a jazz class with focus on technique and rhythm.
Attire: Light blue leotard with black bottoms (tights, shorts or pants) over leotard with either black jazz shoes or bare feet.

While tap dance is a uniquely American dance style, it evolved from African-American and Irish-American folk dances. Along with Jazz, it is the cornerstone of contemporary American musical theater. Tap classes provide students with a strong understanding of technique, terminology, and timing and rhythm. Students begin with basic tap foundation and progress through incorporating improvisational techniques while learning coordination, rhythmic variations, and performance skills through a series of tap combinations. Tap shoes are required.
Ages: 7 - 12 years old
This class is an introduction to tap movement, rhythms, and terminology. It incorporates technical warm-ups, exercises for building strength and coordination, and routines. Emphasis is placed on the importance of rhythm and clear sounds. Students will learn a variety of exercises and combinations to help them progress through to higher levels. We highly recommend a ballet class in conjunction with this class.
